'I have used a variety of beginner books (Bastien primer, PA primer, MFPA, Piano Town primer) but I actually just started my first beginner student in Back To Basics Piano Method Book 1. She is loving it so far! I had so much trouble getting her to engage at the keyboard, but now she's coming in every week and playing Peanut Butter, Butterfly, Hopping, and this week we did Jump Jump Sit and Run Pony. Once she completes that week she gets to color the pictures, which she loves!
Thank you Marlene Moore, for creating these books.'

'I have absolutely loved teaching the Back to Basics piano curriculum. It has been a wonderful game changer for my students and me.
By listening to Marlene’s training videos and completing this process I became a certified Back to Basics piano teacher. My skill level has greatly improved as well as technique, knowledge and confidence.
This has translated seamlessly to teaching my students. They love this approach vs the traditional we had been doing. They love the rote pieces and the sight pieces. Additionally they enjoy the companion books where they can learn composition, improvisation and rhythm. The underpinning philosophy of Love, Achievement, Freedom and Fun is our mantra.
In addition to writing a comprehensive piano curriculum - beginner to advanced, Marlene has been a prolific composer with 300 plus pieces and more to come. I enjoy learning and performing many of these compositions.
It has been one of my greatest delights to get to know Marlene personally and to continue to glean from her many decades of expertise as a concert pianist, piano teacher and as a teacher to teachers.'

The Back-to-Basics concept is all in all well-rounded including sight reading, ear training, memorization and performance. I am passionate enthusiastic about music and Back to Basics has been a great method for my students. It was the first method that included ear training and sight reading. I was able encourage students positively and celebrate small achievements and use positive reinforcement through what is called replacement dialog (from the free teacher training) to help students grow.
With the teacher training I was able to build a respectable professional relationship with students and with the parents. The teacher training as taught me how to adapt to each student's learning style and skill level.

The Back to Basic piano curriculum has changed the very fundamentals of my teaching. Firstly, the specific training has opened the door for me to become more adept at teaching much younger students. Secondly, I have become more aware of individual learning styles and am more able to meet my students where they are and help them grow and develop as a pianist. The Back to Basics program incorporates all aspects of piano learning, including ear training, sight reading, memorization, and improvisation. It has made a huge impact on me personally and on my studio professionally.
